EVOLAM T – Tempered Laminated Glass

EVOLAM T – Tempered Laminated Glass

CHARACTERISTICS
EVOLAM T is a laminated glass consisting of two or more EVODUR (EVODUR ESG, EVODUR TVG, EVODUR HST) glasses of the same or different thicknesses.
EVOLAM T can also be manufactured from a combination of EVODUR ESG with EVODUR TVG or EVODUR HST.
Like EVOLAM laminated glass, EVOLAM T is laminated with an EVA-coated (Etilen Vinyl Acetate) film, which is UV and moisture-resistant.
EVOLAM T has a high transparency index, especially when ultra-clear (low-iron) glass is used as a base, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Being tempered, EVOLAM T is far more resistant to mechanical stress compared to EVOLAM laminated glass. Choosing various glass and foil thicknesses and configurations can achieve various levels of mechanical stress resistance, and therefore various levels of security and safety.

USES
Like EVOLAM, EVOLAM T, is remarkably resilient and has a much larger range of uses due to its increased resistance to mechanical stress:
Glass pillars can be created –to provide structural support for various installations, such as skylights, glass floors, etc, and their thickness and width are dependent on the load they will have to bear. Glas Expert recommends using an ultra-clear (low iron) glass as a base to reduce the green hue that appears with increasing glass thickness.
Glass floor  – glass floors are also made of EVOLAM T glass and generally consist of three glass sheets – from which two to take the load and one for safety reasons. To support the required loading (600 kg / m2 or 400 kg / m2), the glass floor and the supporting pillars may include more sheets.
Glass railings  – are only made of EVOLAM T to provide the required degree of protection. Depending on the height and degree of safety required (household railings, public railings, staircase railings) they have different configurations based on specific calculations. For Railings, we generally use configurations that start with EVOLAM T 88.2, EVOLAM T 88.4 and can go up to EVOLAM 1515.4.
Shop glass windows (shop front ) – is generally made using configurations of 55.2 or 66.2.
In these cases, EVOLAM T laminated glass is used, both for the protection of visitors and for its role in preventing burglary.

EVOLAM T LAMINATED GLASS VARIETIES
Like EVOLAM laminated glass, EVOLAM T can be translucent or opaque, or have different material interlayer inserts, from natural elements (leaves, grass, natural veneers), marble tiles, metallic foils, newspaper clippings, projects etc, to the ultra-high-tech ‘SMART film’.

EVOLAM T SPECIFICATIONS
Maximum size: 4500 x 2400 mm
Maximum thickness: 80 mm
Maximum weight: 650 kg
EVOLAM T can no longer be drilled, finished, cut, or enamelled after manufacture. The only treatments that can be done are cold painting and sandblasting.
Due to the fact that EVOLAM T consists of EVODUR ESG or EVODUR TVG tempered or semi-tempered glasses, so-called “leopard spots” may appear. These occur due to the fact that there are areas with different tensions in the cross-section of the glass panel, which produces a *birefringence effect, a phenomenon visible in polarized light. This phenomenon is unanimously accepted and is not considered defective.

*Birefringence is the optical property of a material having a refractive index that depends on the polarization and propagation direction of light. These optically anisotropic materials are said to be birefringent (or birefractive).
