EVODUR TVG – Heat Strengthened Glass

EVODUR TVG – Heat Strengthened Glass

CHARACTERISTICS
EVODUR TVG is a heat strengthened glass produced by heating the glass to a temperature of about 650 degrees Celsius. In this case, compression stresses are induced by a different ‘controlled heating-cooling process’ than is used with regular tempered safety glass, in order to give it increased mechanical and thermal stress resistance, as well as breakage or shatter-specific characteristics. Heat strengthened glass has a different breakage pattern than tempered glass, it fractures into large pieces that always span the width of the frame to the edges of the panel.
Heat strengthened glass EVODUR TVG can be made of various types of glass (colour-coded, clear, ultra-low or low-iron, ornament, lowE), with thicknesses from 4 mm to 19 mm.

USES
The specific qualities induced by the heat strengthened process makes EVODUR TVG perfect for use in the case of perimeter-framed glass or glazed panels: glass doors, partitions, railings, lift shutters, ventilated facades,or insulating glass facades.

Focussing on safety, this heat strengthened glass technology is generally used for telephone booths, bus stations, signboards, facades, ventilated facades, roofing, safety gables.

Protection against injury – if broken, heat strengthened glass EVODUR TVG fractures into large pieces, the edges of which always reach the frame or perimeter of the panel, in which case the pieces remain attached / glued to the frame or the adhesive applied to the outer border.
