EVOKERAM R is glass upon which ceramic enamel is applied by roller. The ceramic enamel being a functional or decorative coating applied to the glass surface for aesthetic purposes, to increase mechanical and chemical resistance, or the control of incoming or outgoing light. Once the ceramic enamel is applied uniformly, the glass is heated to a temperature of about 650 degrees Celsius, at which point it begins to soften. This process allows the ceramic enamel to fuse with the glass, resulting in a final product that incorporates highly resilient ‘UV resistant, and abrasion / chemical-resistant colour. Its mechanical warping strength is that of tempered glass, which is usually four or five times higher than that of regular glass. EVOKERAM R fractures into very small, harmless shards, ensuring the safety and security of those who may come into contact with the broken glass. EVOKERAM R uses RAL codes and can produce various types of glass with thicknesses from 4 mm to 19 mm USES EVOKERAM R shares the same qualities as EVODUR ESG but also has colour applied via ceramic enamel. EVOKERAM R’s exceptional shock resistance enables an 8mm glass panel to withstand the impact of a 500g steel ball falling from a height of 2m. By comparison, the same ball falling from a height of 0.3 m, breaks regular glass of the same thickness. In addition, its characteristic ‘flexural breaking strength’ of at least 129 MPa is far superior to that of ordinary glass. These remarkable ‘Safety and Security’ related mechanical qualities make EVOKERAM R safety glass the recommended first choice for doors, partitions, railings, shower cabins, elevator doors and glass stairs. Indoor or outdoor glass cladding – EVOKERAM R is the only way to apply a UV-resistant, mechanical and chemical-resistant colour to the glass. EVOKERAM R is resistant to temperatures of up to 250° C, relative to regular glass, in which case a temperature difference of only 30° C causes it to break. This enhanced thermal resistance feature enables EVOKERAM R to be used in the manufacture of home appliances, microwave ovens, electric or gas cookers, kitchen countertops (for protection against hot cookware), fireplace doors, industrial furnaces and other applications requiring high resistance to heat stress. In the case of glass insulating facades, in areas that need to hide construction elements (cables or mineral wool, for instance), EVOKERAM R is integrated into the thermal insulation panel as an exterior or interior sheet. The enamel can be applied to one face of the thermal insulating panel if the project requires it. This enamel is a special ceramic adapted to withstand constant direct contact with chemical and abrasive factors, as well as UV rays. In the case of glass staircases, where the glass is glued to the surface of a metal or concrete structure, there is always at least a little EVOKERAM R glass used. All surface glued glass flooring, whether laminated or not, contain EVOKERAM R. Besides the impressive colour aspect that offers aesthetic harmony with other design elements in any given space, EVOKERAM R’s mechanical qualities also offer significantly increased safety and security. In the case of glass doors, if the project requires a specific nuance, the EVOKERAM R laminate glazing is installed with the ceramic enamel on the interior. EVODUR ESG’s mechanical qualities, enable doors with ceramic enamel applied to be mounted onto any type of hardware. Protection against injury – Should it break, EVOKERAM R fractures into very small, harmless shards, ensuring the safety and security of those who may come into contact with the glass. Break-in/ Intrusion protection – EVOKERAM R glass mounted into a suitable frame can provide essential protection against burglary. VARIOUS EVOKERAM GLASSES Depending on the requirements for the ceramic enamel application, the choices offered are: EVOKERAM R (roller) and EVOKERAM S (screen printing).
